Bio:

Gavin was born and raised in Torquay, England. He started squash at the age of 10, playing at his local club, Torquay Squash Centre. Gavin went on to become Torquay Squash Centre’s club professional at the age of 18 for 4 years, taking his coaching qualifications during this time. In 2006 he took a 3 year break from full time coaching to study Business at Plymouth University in England, however still managed to find time to travel to Belfast, Northern Ireland  to represent Belfast Boat Club in 2007, coaching Irish National juniors and winning the Irish League and Cup with the club team.

Gavin went on to be hired as a Development Coach for England Squash & Racketball in 2009, before being employed in Calgary, Canada for World Health Club as the assistant pro in 2010, and is now based at Philadelphia Country Club, where he became assistant racquets professional in May 2012.

Outside of squash, Gavin has trained with Clevedon Town Football Club (soccer), who compete in the Southern Premier Division in England. He also loves to get out and play golf as often as he can and considers this his hobby away from Squash. His other interest is in Aikido, a Japanese art of self-defense employing locks and holds and utilizing the principle of nonresistance to cause an opponent's own momentum to work against him.

His interest in fashion and sports naturally led him in to creating Torq Sports. A sports clothing company designed for everyday activities in sports and fitness. Torq Sports offers a unique style of clothing paying attention to basic eco-friendly design and ultimate comfort for the wearer.
